Christy Scotch

Dressage Trainer

Christy Scotch is an FEI Dressage rider and trainer, a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist, a graduate of the USDF L Judging program and has over 25 years of experience riding, training, coaching, and competing in a variety of disciplines ranging from Western to English.

Christy has experience training horses up the levels in Dressage from first breaking them under saddle, all the way to training and competing at Grand Prix. She has a passion for teaching horses as well as helping riders develop a real relationship with their horse. She loves to play a part in helping her students accomplish their dreams…whether it is in competition or simply in improving their relationship with their horse.

She is a strong believer in emphasizing ground manners in horses with a kind approach that makes sense to both the horse and rider.

She has trained extensively with Conrad Schumacher since 2005 and has also trained with Lilo Fore, Henk VanBergen and Jason Canton. She considers her approach to horse training a little different than a lot of others in that she emphasizes that we are always training, even when we aren’t doing it intentionally. This mindset helps to foster respect between the horse and their partner and improves the relationship under saddle as well.
